AIB Build A Bank Regional Competition

The FealeGoodBank team participated at the AIB Build a Bank competiton. The AIB Build a Bank competition is where all the teams showcase the hard work they have put into there banks. The top 5 teams at each regional competition are selected to then compete at the national competition in Dublin. It was a jam packed day and as seen in the photo above we had worked very hard to make our stand for the competition. The first stage of the competition consisted of 2 judges going around to the stands. The first judge was the 2 minute judge who spoke to us very briefly at our stand and asked questions. The second judge who spoke at our stand was our 10 minute judge who went into more detail about our bank. Following speaking to these 2 judges we had lunch. All the bank teams the returned and took there seats. Only the top 8 teams out of 36 teams were to be called up to speak on stage and our bank team were the first to be called. Our bank manager Frances spoke on stage extremely well and then our Finance Controller Emma Woulfe answered the question given by the judge. Following this we sat down and listened to the other 7 teams shortlisted. There was a break following this for the judges to deliberate and the master of ceremony Tom O'Donnell started a dance where spot prizes were given. Emma Woulfe showed so much positivity that she won her very own prize. The judges then came back out and began to announce first the digital prize and the community prize. Next they started to announce the 5 teams that got through. We got called up third and we were absolutely thrilled. We each received a €100 One4All voucher and €250 for our school. We can't wait for the national competition where we hope to do well again.
